Untitled painting by Tommy McHugh. Photo by Gianni Bianchini

A crimson figure with long jet black hair decorated by a yellow feather gallops on a multicoloured horse. The underneath of the horse's neck is slate blue and mauve, its nose is greenyellow, lower cheek yellow and bright orange surrounds the eye. It is bridled with pink reins. The rider is turned to the right of frame and is pulling back an arrow across a bow. The sky behind the rider is in several shades of bright pink. The space between the arrow and the upper part of the bow is sky blue. The lower space is pale bluish grey. The area to the right of the bow which stretches vertically from top to bottom of the composition is a slate blue which echoes that of the underside of the horse.
